You can find out about your right to access information under Freedom of Information law in Scotland on the website of the Scottish Information Commissioner.

This includes Your Right to Know – a Guide to FOI, which can be downloaded from the website or paper copies can be ordered from the Commissioner’s office.

The Scottish Information Commissioner provides information about rights to access information held by public organisations that operate in Scotland only, for example, the Scottish Government. 

If you want to access information from a UK-wide public authority which operates in Scotland, for example, the BBC, or from those with responsibility for England, Wales or Northern Ireland only, see the website of the UK Information Commissioner.
